My name is Alina and I can say that I always loved to create something that needs meticulousness and patience.
I started making jewelry in 2006, when I was looking for a re-creative activity, so I started painting fragments of coconut shell for a happy corner. Then, I thought I could drill and transform them in colorful pendants. I made so many of those that to the selling part was just a small step. Looking for alternative materials, I discovered the air dry clay and it was a delight to mold it and give it life as imagined. Until recently, I created hundreds of painted masks - pendants, bracelets and brooches.
I wanted to do something new. I kept in mind for some years an idea - a friend of mine bought as a souvenir from a trip she made, some jewelry from aluminum wire made only for her, in front of her, with the stone she choose. Comparing to painting, It seemed rough but I wanted to try.
In the late 2011 I formed my first ring from recycled copper wire. I was enchanted and thrilled thinking at the variety of forms that wire can take. Looking on internet to buy some soften wire I discovered the world of wire wrapping, a fascinating world with infinite possibilities.
So, here I am, still wire wrapping and with no intention to stop. :-)
I work my jewelry from scratch in my little home studio using only my hands and my pliers. The materials I use are copper wire and natural stones. I want to continue experimenting and learning more about soldering, metal working and see where this road goes…
